# To Add Existing Student

An existing student is one who has been enrolled into EMIS and already has an EMIS ID. This feature is necessary when a student is transferring from one school to another.

1. Click Students in the main navigation then click Students from the Students sub-menu
2. Click Add With EMIS ID to display a search page.

3\.  Enter the Students EMIS ID and click search. The profile of the student with that EMIS ID will display.

4\. Click the Submit button if the profile matches the profile of the student you want to add.
