# The EMIS ID

EMIS IDs uniquely identifies all schools and students on this platform, and indeed the state. EMIS IDs are automatically generated at the point of registration and is unique throughout the system. EMIS IDs are non-transferable for students and schools. As stated earlier, EMIS IDs are unique, that means, no two entities – schools or students can have the same EMIS ID.
