# Promote Students in New Session

As part of the a new session activities, school administrators will have to promote students to the next level or class. Promotion of students here will also reflect the actual promotion based on their results in the school.

Promotion of students is done only once in a session. And is available only at the early stages of the new session. Please contact your state EMIS administrator for more details

To promote your students to the next level:

click students and from the students menu click

Select the current level from the Stuent Level dropdown and click the Search Button. This will display the list of students in that level in your school that have not been promoted for the current session.

Select the student you want to promote to the next class by clicking the checkboxes in the select column. After selecting, click the **Promote Select to Next Class** button. When you are prompted if you want to continue with the action, click Yes.

On successful promotion, you can proceed to promote students in the the other classes by just selecting the student level and then click search. Repeat the process as specified above.
